When you think of people who are geniuses, who pops into your head? And why are they geniuses? What makes them special? Have you ever stopped to consider the definition of genius?

Merriam Webster defines genius in the following way:

ge·nius (noun)
1: extraordinary intellectual power especially as manifested in creative activity
2: a person endowed with transcendent mental superiority; specifically : a person with a very high IQ

But does this definition encompasses the full spectrum of genius? Do Tiger Woods and Richard Branson have "extraordinary intellectual power"? And are all people with a high IQ therefore geniuses?

I have been exploring the idea of genius. I have had the opportunity to study and work with some of the world's best on topics ranging from wine tasting to parenting. The conclusion I've reached is that genius is more about the uniquely inspired output of a process rather than a static personality trait or the meaning we assign to a score on an IQ test.

In this video, I share my thoughts on genius and the elements I see present in people who are operating at extraordinary levels in any field.

I believe we are all capable of genius.
